Discover the roots of so many of the great yoga styles around today. Join our teacher trainees with special guest Greg McGowan as we review the history and philosophy behind Ashtanga Yoga. What does "Ashtanga" mean? Where did it come from? Learn the answers to these and many more questions. After a short lecture, Greg will lead us through a slightly slower and modified version of Ashtanga's primary series.
Greg is continually surprised and motivated by the intense physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of practicing yoga. Sharing these benefits with beginners and experienced yogis alike fuels his passion for teaching. Greg has been certified to teach Ashtanga yoga by the great David Swenson. He studied for 6 weeks in India at an Ashram to receive his RYT-500 designation. Along with Ashtanga, he is also a certified Yin, Anusara and Broga instructor. Greg graduated with a BS in psychology and sociology. Plus, he has a background in martial arts and is a certified CPR Instructor. Greg's calm demeanor and sense of humor can be found in all of his classes.
