Free Meditation Practice

At the Plymouth Senior Center
Wednesdays from 9:45 to 10:15 am

Meditation is a great way to calm your mind and relieve stress. This class includes a simple series of standing stretches, followed by breathing exercises, then guided relaxation, finishing with a 10 minute silent meditation. This practice can be done in your everyday clothes and takes place as you sit in a chair, no worries about sitting on the floor.  No experience is needed.

Based on 5 parts of the 8 part yoga philosophy, this class will lead you through:

  • Asana - physical yoga
  • Pranayama - breathing techniques
  • Pratyahara - turning inward
  • Dharana - focus
  • Dhyana - meditation

No registration is required. Drop-in to any class. Consistent attendance and practice will bring about more sustainable results.

“Yoga does not remove us from the reality or responsibilities of everyday life, but rather places our feet firmly and resolutely in the practical ground of experience. We don’t transcend our lives; we return to the life we left behind in the hopes of something better.” ~ Donna Farhi

When you do headstand you can only see the world, not yourself. When you do shoulderstand you can only see yourself, not the world. They are the perfect yin/yang, king/queen, mother/father energies.
